The bassist and composer CH Straatmann released his first solo album, Efecto Vertigo, during the Womex 2013 – the most important world music festival, which took place in Cardiff, Wales from October 23rd to 27t. After the Womex, the bass player started an artistic collaboration with musicians in London, UK.
Known as one of the most respected musicians in the music scene from Bahia – historic state from Brazil -, CH stands out for his versatility and talent. His show is a dip in the afro-brazilian and caribbean culture, with moments of pure jazz and improvisation.
The album Efecto Vertigo is essentially acoustic and creates an interesting dialogue between bass and percussion. The acclaimed project emphasizes genres like salsa, rumba, mambo, cumbia and bolero. Produced by Jorge Solovera and CH, Efecto Vertigo also includes the presence of percussionist Rudson Daniel, known for his contribution with artists such Daniela Mercury, Banda Eva, Saulo Fernandes, Lazzo Matumbi and Retrofoguetes.

The theme ‘Havana Vortex’ joined the collection ‘An Introduction to Brazilian Jazz’, launched by BM&A and Apex-Brazil for the Confederations Cup in 2013, being distributed online to over 1,500 invited international and national, as well as broadcasters, journalists, businessmen and seals, among others.
The songs of Efecto Vertigo album are part of the collection ‘Bahia Music Export’. The project ‘Bahia Music Export’ is sponsored by the Department of Culture of the State of Bahia (SecultBA) and the Cultural Foundation of the State of Bahia (FUNCEB) and will be released at Womex 2013.
